Another year, another successful Halloween/Comikaze! It was so fun to celebrate our favorite holiday and our favorite Con in the same weekend last year, and we were so delighted that we’d get to do it again this year! But you guys know the drill, let’s get right to it!
For Halloween, Peter and I wanted knew exactly who we wanted to be: Constantine and Zatanna. They are such a fun DC couple and with the new Constantine show just getting started, they were a perfect choice for our Day 1/Halloween cosplays.
(Don’t worry, that’s an E-Cig Peter has there. We liked to joke that Constantine was trying to be modern.)
Thank you for Julius Pantera for these great shot inside the Con!
And then came Day 2. Since WonderCon, Emily has been thinking about things to add to her Red Sonja cosplay and was so excited to debut the improved version on Saturday.
Emily affectionately called her severed head “Fred the Head.” You can see more pictures of her Red Sonja cosplay from this weekend on her Facebook page!
Emily and Fred were a hit! If you happened to take her picture, we’d love to see it!
We were also joined by some of our amazing friends for this Con.
Our friend Jonathan made his Thranduil costume from scratch! Becca, who you may remember as Sailor Jupiter from Anime Expo, was obviously happy to be here (and looked great as Slave Leia!) and I was trying my best to be very serious.
Of course, there were a lot of amazing and creative cosplayers at Comikaze!
The Hound finally got his chicken
This is our friend Erica as Gambit!
(This is one of Emily’s favorite cosplayers! His cosplay is so on point and he is such a sweetheart.)
We spent the majority of the 90s trying to find Carmen Sandiego and she was here all along!
If you’re one of these amazing cosplayers, let us know and we’ll credit you!
One of our favorite additions to Comikaze 2014 had to be the League of Legends Cospitality Lounge.
It was such an amazing resource for cosplayers! It had nice comfy couches to lounge on (great for those ladies bravely wearing heels), and it had tables set up with make-up, hot glue guns, brushes, and other necessities for all your cosplay touch-up or fix-ups! Plus, they had free bottles of water and Halloween candy (Emily needed at least two mini-Snickers to catch a second wind). We hope to see this set up again at other Cons!
We’re still on a post-Con high, and we can’t wait until our next adventure!
