As the owners of two beautiful cat children, we can vouch for other pet parents: our pets are our lives. One of our cats, Lena, was a birthday gift to 16-year-old me and the other, Pumpkin, was found all alone on a freezing cold December morning after her mother had been killed when she was just 3 weeks old. While Lena loves us, Pumpkin has a special kind of love for us, I think because she knows that we saved her. I’m sure people who have rescued pets know that same love.
Two such people are Anne and Wil Wheaton, who have 3 rescue dogs. Anne recently announced a special project that she’s been working on: a calendar featuring other fellow geeks with their own rescue pets.
